Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis Comes To The Stage
If you thought the book about a guy transformed into a bug
was haunting, wait until you see it on stage.
Franz Kafka’s “Metamorphosis” comes to life on stage this
month at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Fort Greene.
The classic tale of alienation, from Iceland’s hailed Vesturport
Theatre, doesn’t use any extreme makeup or costuming to
show salesman Gregor Samsa’s transformation from man to
bug; rather, it hinges on actor Gisli Orn Gardarsson’s lithe,
mesmerizing physicality. Thanks to some production magic
— the second floor of the dual-level set can turn 90 degrees
— as well as intense training on Gardarsson’s part, the actor
can climb walls and swing from the rafters for some spellbinding
aerial feats.

Perhaps The Funniest Film Clip EVA! Timothy Treadwell
Werner Herzog's film Grizzle Man I have not seen. But I
did view one portion Pt 3 and this has to be the funniest
film clip ever. I cannot seriously believe that Mr. Herzog
meant otherwise and in doing so is to show the true
genius behind the man.

Mona Charen - Conservative Columnist
The sad thing about this Sarah Palin situation
is that it's beginning to tip. Tipping toward
a very sad outcome. It's becoming rapidly
clear that if she keeps going at the current
rate the culmination of her and her family's
overexposure will come crashing down. And
ultimately this will hurt the Republican Party.
I say it's the tipping point because of the
recent comments by two respected conservative
figures: Mona Charen and Barbara Bush.
Of course I could be wrong.

Republicans Blame AG Eric Holder For Outcome Of Former Gitmo Detainee Civilian Trial
It's obvious that Ahmed Ghailani was aquitted on all but
one charge was because Bush authorized the use of
torture and not the fact that he was tried in a civilian
court. If anyone should be blamed for this outcome
it's Bush and definitely not Holder.
Ghailani was the first former Gitmo detainee to be tried
in civilian court.
Ghailani was acquitted in federal court on more than 280
charges in connection with the 1998 bombings of the U.S.
embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, including one murder
count for each of the 224 people killed. He was found guilty
for only one charge, conspiracy to destroy government
buildings.

film review: mr. miller goes to washington...OR ELSE!
"Mr. Miller Goes to Washington...OR ELSE!" The story of a
perpetually unshaven ne'er-do-well who overcomes a string
of improbable self-inflicted wounds to become a defender of
constitutional conservatism in a most unlikely manner. He
challenges votes for his write-in opponent that read
"Murkowski, Lisa," as being obvious protest votes for ......
you guessed it, Joe Miller! The logic is impeccable, as his
opponent is Lisa Murkowski, not Murkowski, Lisa.
Emboldened by the shamelessness of his ballot count
observers, he challenges ballots spelled perfectly, but in
CURSIVE, which of course is NOT how Lisa Murkowski's
name appeared on her write-in petition. None of this
succeeds, nor does his filing a lawsuit in Federal court on a
State election law matter -- it's thrown out. However, he has

DoltZone Security, who kidnap the improbable victor,
Murkowski, and threaten to "snowboard" her unless..."Mr.

Ruby Bridges Celebrates 50th Anniversary of School Desegregation In the South
Ruby Bridges was the first African-American child to attend
an all-white elementary school in the South.
The court-ordered first day of integrated schools in New
Orleans, November 14, 1960, was commemorated by
Norman Rockwell in the painting The Problem We All Live
With.
As soon as Bridges got into the school, white parents went
in and brought their own children out; all but one of the white
teachers also refused to teach while a black child was enrolled.
Only Barbara Henry, from Boston, Massachusetts, was willing
to teach Bridges, and for over a year Mrs. Henry taught her
alone.
No other children joined the class, and within a few days, Ruby
was going to school alone with the Marshals; her mother had
to return to work. Then the Rev. Lloyd Foreman broke ranks with
the white boycotts and sent his daughter Pam to school. The Ku
Klux clan began burning crosses in black neighborhoods to
frighten the people into giving up their fight for equality.
But Ruby quickly became a symbol of freedom, appearing in
John Steinbeck's Travels with Charley and a Norman Rockwell
painting than ran in Look Magazine. When Abon Bridges lost
his job at a local filling station for sending Ruby to a white school,
the family began to receive gifts and money from all over the U.S.

Is George W. Bush An International War Criminal For Condoning Torture?
President George W. Bush admits for the first time in his new
memoir that he personally approved the use of waterboarding,
a technique in which an interrogator simulates drowning on a
suspect. The method, which most describe as torture, has
since been banned by the Justice Department.
In his book, "Decision Points," Bush asserts that he was asked
by the Central Intelligence Agency whether he would support the
agency's waterboarding of Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the alleged
9/11 mastermind.
"Damn right," Bush says that he said.
Before he had been in office two full days, President Obama issued
an executive order banning torture: ending the CIA abuse of
detainees, closing U.S. secret prisons, and providing the
International Committee of the Red Cross with access to U.S.held
detainees.
Under Bush, torture became official US policy and therefore Bush
should be subjected to the same consequences as any head of state
that condones such practices. Remember no one is above the law,
not even US Presidents.
And now we find out that the DOJ let pass a deadline to prosecute
CIA Torture Tapes destruction!
