Socialist Senator filibusters tax cut extension
Friday, Barry Sanders, socialist Senator from Vermont, made good on a promise to filibuster the legislation that extends the Bush tax cuts for America's most wealthiest. He managed to protest for nine hours, however it may not be enough to prevent the law from being passed.
Republicans claim that the continuation of the tax breaks benefit small business owners, who in turn create new jobs. To sweeten the deal, extensions for the unemployed were added per Obama.
I find that it's fitting to further assist those on unemployment. In spite of what Republicans would lead the public to believe, the continued cuts will not create jobs nor help the average citizen, but ultimately are only self serving legislation for the ruling class to continue bankrupting America.
