The Continuation of Institutional Racism

If the State Legislators for Legal Immigration have their way, children born in the United States to immigrants whose citizenship is in question would either not have a birth certificate issued or have a mark denoting this fact on their birth record, labeling them for life, a second class citizen.

Surely one would think that the labeling of individuals in this country as being lower than others by heritage was destroyed by the civil rights movement, but alas, institutional racism rears its ugly head. I suppose it's only fitting, with the proliferation of the tea party movement, the last of the old white men are terrified that their country is no longer "theirs."

So even in 2011 when everyone is supposed to have equal opportunities, there are those who might still be considered 3/5ths a person. What a fucking shame.
