Judith Miller, Iraq war propagandist, hypocrite, and fraud |
Former New York Times reporter, current contributor for Fox News, and hypocrite, Judith Miller appeared on Fox News Watch and made claims that as far as journalists go, Julian Assange wasn't credible due to his lack of verifying facts on the leaks he was publishing. It's an amazing and quite ballsy act of this woman to dare think for one minute that she could stand to criticize and call into question anyone's journalist integrity.
If you recall back in 2002 she was the journalist responsible for covering the lead up to and the Iraq invasion. It was articles that she published at this time that later were proven to be either incorrect or outright fradulent. One of her reports in particular, suggesting that Saddam was persuing nuclear armament was used and quoted by Rice, Powell, and Rumsfeld as supporting evidence that America had no choice but go to war. It wasn't found out later that her main source of information for many of her stories was questionable and that she went to no effort to validate his claims.
When confronted on this fact she is quoted as saying, "[M]y job isn't to assess the government's information and be an independent intelligence analyst myself. My job is to tell readers of the New York Times what the government thought about Iraq's arsenal," she said.
Let it be no surprise that a journalist with such a lack of credibility is now working with Fox News.
