Mark Morrisroe - self-portrait - to Brent - 1982

He was a character our of Gene Genet, as interpreted by Jack Smith.  Somewhere along the line, he made the thousands of battered, brilliant Polaroids, photograms, and manipulated prints - plus a few campy Super-8 films - that brought him underground fame.
